Electrical permits - homeowners

Apply for an electrical permit online here. Users must create an account to obtain permits and to pay for additional fees for existing permits.

Additional fees

Once notified, you have 10 days to pay additional fees through your online account. After 10 days, an invoice will be mailed to you and payment must be made through U.S. Bank. You can use an existing U.S. Bank payment account, create a new account or continue as a guest to make payment. Visit the Payment Center.

Inspections

Find contact information for electrical inspectors in the electrical inspector lookup. Before filing a permit or calling for an inspection, verify the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) in the directory:

A permit will be evaluated at application time and appropriate inspection request information will be provided via email.

The email you receive when the permit is issued will contain the information that you need. You do not need to determine which method to use yourself.
