To go to Canada as a visitor, you’ll first need to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), sometimes referred to as a Visitor visa. When you arrive in Canada, you won’t be issued any other documents.
A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is a travel document issued by the Government of Canada to international travellers who want to come to Canada as visitors, international students and foreign workers.
Visitors, international students and foreign workers all have to apply for a TRV. As a visitor, you won’t get any additional documents when you arrive in Canada. You might get a stamp, but this is at the immigration officer’s discretion.
If you want to extend your stay as a visitor, you’ll have to apply for a Visitor Record.
You can apply for a TRV online through the official Government of Canada website.
If you’re eligible, you can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead.
$100.00 per person, to a maximum of $500.00 per family if you have more than 5 family members.
Visitor visa applications currently take 23 days to process in the Philippines.
This doesn’t include the time it’ll take for you to gather the requirements, the time it takes for your documents to be sent from the Visa Application Centre (VAC) to the Visa Office, nor the time it takes for your passport to be mailed back to you.
With a Visitor visa, you can visit friends and family in Canada. You can also see all the popular tourist destinations in Canada.
You can usually stay for up to six months in Canada. If you want to extend your stay, you have to apply for a Visitor record.
